I am a Brit living in Japan. The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences of competing in triathlons, and hopefully encourage others to discover what makes triathlon such a rewarding sport. I have only been racing since 2009, but in this time there have been so many highlights for me, including learning to swim more than 100 metres, entering my first road bicycle race, running my first marathon, winning my age group in a number of races, representing Japan in the Age Group World Championships in London, and completing the Japan Ironman. In 2016, I won my age group in the Asian Championships, and then after several years of placing 2nd, I finally came first in the overall JTU ranking for my age group. In September 2017, I once more represented Japan in the World Championships in Rotterdam, and then in early November won my JTU age group for the second year. I have now decided to focus on running a sub 3-hour marathon.
